Hummersville

AM General Humvee Soft Top
Exoto Thundertrac 'Hummer' 1/18th scale
A Heck of a Hummer.
Looks like a SUV built the way Douglas built F4 Phantoms-the jet that proved the principle that given enough power a barn door would fly; the Hummer pays homage to another suburbanite legend, he who has the biggest hammer wins. Stuck in traffic and you see one of these guys hammering down on you, you had best move out of way, unless of course you are
driving an Abrams tank.

Formula for Success

Photos by author
Angliphones looked at it; what a funny little car. Provincial pride demanded a true Frankaphone would drive one. But Renaults (Renoohs) are built in France are they not? French is French and Anglais is everything else. This is Quebec and we French out number you Anglais and the Renault-the national symbol of our pride, n'est pa? Made in France, prided in Quebec, very confusing. We (Anglais) regarded Renaults as a French Volkswagen. Heaters worked the same; poorly. But that is what brought us together, the English and the French Quebecois. When the cold and bitter winter froze our butts to the vinyl seats, we all turned to the beautiful Quebcois ladies, who so warmed our hearts.

Formula 1 Renaults
These guys went fast-as did the Labatt's Blues piled on the rough Tavern tables. I considered myself a Molsen's Export kind of guy. As a kid we would order the beer 2 quarts at a time, These days I doubt I could drink 2 quarts of anything, let alone beer. How did we do that Dave?
