Bent wings



T he airframe was built around the the R-2800, and the prop, all 13'4", hammered all that power-over 2000 horses; too out climb, out dive and fly faster then anything the Japanese could muster late in the Pacific war. You just can't see where you are going...It took the insanity of the Royal Navy to figure a way to land it on a carrier.



The white markings represent tape used to seal access panels on the cowling, which leaked fluids from the power section.
